 * I did some test posts, but have found trying to click the menu above causes all
   the links to be prefixed with:
 * [http://sekhu.net/wp/archives/2005/02/01/how-many/archives](http://sekhu.net/wp/archives/2005/02/01/how-many/archives)
 * How many being the name of the post – any idea why it’s doing this? It’s done
   this to all the links – the strange thing clicking the mast header takes you
   back to the main page as it should.
 * Thanks in advance.

 * You need to update your permalinks structure for your htaccess file in the admin
   panel..
 * Options >> Permalinks >> Update Permalink Structure
 * (make sure your htaccess file is writable in your top level wordpress directory)

 * I’ve got a similar problem..
    Been attempting the Permalink structure using the
   default given, /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
 * and it’s a no-go
    My .htaccess is read/write (chmod 666), and I’ve also clicked
   the update permalink button within WP just to make sure it’s saved the changes..
   but still nothing. It just gives me a 404 error, like it’s not there. Am I missing
   something?

 * It’s very weird, but I just deleted the htaccess file, just to start clean, and
   updated the permalink structure. The link structure as I posted still appears
   on the links as I have posted.
 * I used the default and it seemed to set it up for everything – np thre then.
   It works for everything else, but I did edit the links manually as a list rather
   than using wp_get_lists (or someting like that) as that spewed errors.
 * But, going to the post is the only time this error occurs.
 * Is there another command/permalink I am required to setup in order to get it
   working?

 * RanchNachos,
 * I had a similar problem – 404’s on clicking on the links in my blog after creating
   PermaLinks.
 * In my case it turned out to be because my WordPress installation is not in the
   same folder as my blog so I had to create the .htaccess file in my blog folder,
   not my WordPress folder for the links to work.
 * Hope this helps,
 * Tom

 * try this structure:
 * /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
