# Permalinks problem

 * I have created a custom permalink structure as follows: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/
   to improve SEO. I have saved this structure and everything works fine.
 * I now decided to install the UTW plugin which works fine also
 * I then installed the Tag Cloud Widget for UTW which installs fine and puts my
   tags in a cloud however when i click on a link it is not using my permalink structure
   of /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ to give me SEF links and is instead using the
   old style [http://blog.mcdermotts.org.uk/index.php?tag=blackboard](http://blog.mcdermotts.org.uk/index.php?tag=blackboard)
 * When i click on post from my home my permalink structure works fine just not 
   from the Tag cloud.
 * How do i configure my tag cloud to use the same permalink structure ?

 * Here’s a hint: Manage -> Tags.
    Look at those very top options. 🙂

 * Im sorry I must be missing something I’ve tried ticking the first option (Use
   url rewriting for local tag urls (/tag/tag instead of index.php?tag=tag) )
 * but that doesnt as now get [http://blog.mcdermotts.org.ukblog/](http://blog.mcdermotts.org.ukblog/)
   when i click on a tag with the word blog
 * I have tried copying my permalink structure in the Base url field but then just
   get [http://blog.mcdermotts.org.uk/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/blog](http://blog.mcdermotts.org.uk/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/blog)
   for tag with word blog
 * I’m clearly doing something wrong but dont know what it is
 * Can you tell me what to put in that top section

 * For me,I just checked the top box. For the base url I have “/tag/” (without quotes).

 * Thanks again Handysolo I tried your suggestion but i just got 404 errors on all
   tags and gave me a page title of [http://blog.mcdermotts.org.uk/tag/blog/](http://blog.mcdermotts.org.uk/tag/blog/)
   however when i put a tick in the top box and then put a / in the base url and
   tick in the end slash it seems to working as when i click a tag i get the posts
   with that tag
