# PERMALINKS SETTING FAILED

 * hi. i m the owner of blog [http://www.typicali.com](http://www.typicali.com).
 * i just import all my entries from my old blog (typicali.wordpress.com) to my 
   new own domain blog (www.typicali.com)
 * i encounter a problem here when i were trying to update my permalink structure
   at my new blog.
 * i chose to set my permalink based on “day and name”, so it would be like this–
   > [http://typicali.com/2009/03/21/sample-post/](http://typicali.com/2009/03/21/sample-post/)
 * but i received the Error 404 – Not Found.
 * however, if i change back the setting to default ([http://typicali.com/?p=123](http://typicali.com/?p=123)),
   there is no problem. and my blog can be viewed smoothly.
 * the problem with this default setting is that, the link from old blog are not
   working as the permalink setting of old blog is “day and name”.
 * please. please, help me.

 * Have you tried resetting the permalinks back to “day and name” after you set 
   them to default?
 * Your problem is with the .htaccess file. Sometimes setting the permalinks back
   to default, and then setting again to how you want them resolves the .htaccess
   problem.

 * yeah, i tried that way a few times. but still problem.
 * i set it to “day and name” and problem occured (404 error). so i reset it back
   to default. no problem and working fine.
 * after that, i tried again set it to “day and name”… again, problem is there…
 * donno what exactly.
 * any other ideas, frens?
