 * Hi
 * Having a very frustrating time getting permalinks to work and would appreciate
   any help. I have a three page site, Home, Works, Profile. Home is a static front
   page, Works is the posts page and Profile is a page.
 * I am trying to get my site working with /%postname%.html style permalinks but
   most of the time only /%postname% ever seems to work. If I type in the url with.
   html I get a 404 error. When I do manage to get /%postname%.html working all
   of my pages show the posts page except for my front page. I can’t see how the
   two scenarios are connected but the setup of the permalinks ether does one or
   the other. Has anyone come accross this?

 * Where does the .html come in? WordPress uses all .php files.
    So what exactly
   are you trying to do?

 * yes I know WordPress uses .php. See here [http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Having_your_posts_end_in_.html](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Having_your_posts_end_in_.html)
 * but I’m also trying to get pages to work with .html using this [http://www.introsites.co.uk/33~html-wordpress-permalink-on-pages-plugin.html](http://www.introsites.co.uk/33~html-wordpress-permalink-on-pages-plugin.html)

 * To end your blog URIs or URLs with **.HTML**, just do the following:
 * 1. For Post links, go to settings → permalinks panel and add.html at end, for
   e.g. `/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%.html`
 * 2. For WordPress Page: Just download plugin [here](http://www.introsites.co.uk/33~html-wordpress-permalink-on-pages-plugin.html),
   and activate it.
 * 2b. Once activated, Edit your WordPress page and under Page title, add “.html”
   at the end of page URL.
    2c. Finally click save next to URL link.
 * That’s it!
