I am new to setting up donations and online payments on my site and am getting the following error message once I click on my PayPal button:

    Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/plugins/seamless-donations/seamless-donations-payment.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I am trying to use PayPal Express as my payment gateway. Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong?

Okay, let’s separate the two items. PayPal has a ton of different APIs for its different services and Seamless Donations doesn’t support PayPal express. If supports the classic PayPal interface.

As for the errors, either you’ve got a bad install or something weird in your site settings. The easiest thing would be to deactivate and delete the plugin (that won’t upset your data), and then reinstall it.

If that doesn’t work, you may need to reach out to your hosting provider to check all your file permissions.

P.S. Marking as resolved because not a Seamless Donations-fixable issue.

I also have PayPal classic installed so I deactivated express and tried a test donation again and I still get the same error.

I will contact my hosting provider to ask about permissions. Thank you.
