Permissions/image uploads

    Hi
    In order to get permission to upload images/gallery etc, I’ve been fiddling (stupidly it seems) with file permissions (images wouldn’t upload due to permissions, couldn’t create gallery because of permissions). I’m now locked out of my wordpress I can’t see why (wordpress folder gives me rwx access, as does wp-content and index.php). I don’t think I changed any others. I don’t see why I can’t get in if I have access.

    I’m almost at the point of re-uploading wordpress to the server to reset all permissions. Before I do that, can anyone shed any light?

    Download Filezilla go to the appropriate folder right click you will find file permission and set it to 777

    Yeah but you just give a try and make sure you use WP Security Scan and Disable Directory Listings plugins

    It’s all a bit over my head. I think I’d rather get back to where it was before I mucked it up, so will try to re-upload the files. I’ve not done much, it’s my first week of all this.

    ..If it works! I’ve mucked it up so much that I can’t even see my site – it’s forbidden!
    Getting bored with this! (previous Mr Site customer… easy peasy).

    Tough luck ..Guess you should try the 777 trick that’s the only solution I guess
