I’ve just been notified of an order but for an out of
stock product. It said it was now on backorder and the product is now showing
as -1 in stock. The customer, and all his details, is real but when I called
him he knew nothing about any order but on checking his email, has an order confirmation
from us. He asked me to check banking etc and Stripe has no payment logged. There
are others for the day that are correct. So Woo seems to have generated an order,
for an existing customer, for an out of stock product (that has no back orders
selected) and I can’t see why or undo it. It’s skewing my stats now. Has anyone
come across this before?
<!– /wp:paragraph –>

I should have mentioned, it doesn’t actually show up
on “orders” in Woocommerce so I can’t cancel it. Just the stock inventory and
the emails to me and customer shows anything happened
<!– /wp:paragraph –

* Hello [@restlessspirits](https://wordpress.org/support/users/restlessspirits/),

So if I understand this correctly, the order email was triggered automatically
but the order is nowhere to be found.I’ve never witnessed something like this
before. I assume the order email had an order number, have you tried accessing
the order page from a direct URL by replacing the `657` below with the number
in the email?For example: `https://mysite.wpcomstaging.com/wp-admin/post.php?
post=657&action=edit`If you manage to locate it, then please attach a screenshot
of the order notes along with any information that you think can help us understand
the problem. It will be also helpful if you attach a screenshot of the email
itself and your site’s system status report. You can find it via WooCommerce >
Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve
done that, paste it here in your response. Please make sure to remove any sensitive
information before posting it here as this is a public forum, as for the screenshots
you can upload them to [Snipboard](https://snipboard.io/).Look forward to hearing
back from you.

* We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved–
we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
