Phone number exposed?

    Hi,

    If I use this plugin in my site, is my phone number revealed/exposed to spammers, bots, malware or to anybody else?

    Hello. From the moment you give a personal contact information, be it email or telephone, it is inevitable that this contact channel can be misused by someone, this is unavoidable. If you want to keep your number out of the reach of these situations, we always recommend using a non-personal line. You can hire virtual numbers for WhatsApp for less than $1 a month.     In join.chat the phone number is found among the other configuration settings in json format. It’s not impossible to find but it is much more difficult than WhatsApp “Click to chat” links (https://wa.me/phonenumber) that bots can scan for phone numbers.
