When uploading either a profile picture or cover picture, the uploading blue-bar reaches the end and then the process stalls. Opening Inspect in the browser and selecting console gives the following:

    downloadable font: Glyph bbox was incorrect (glyph ids 3 5 25 36 38 39 40 41 45 47 55 56 59 64 67 70 71 78 83 84 86 96 112 119 120 149 150 161 162 174 202 214 229 231 232 233 244 245 251 252 265 274 280 291 294 299 308 309 338 358 402 428 435 436 444 445 446 447 460 534 535 546 547 595 596 609 610 611 612 662 672 673 701 719 721 722) (font-family: “Ionicons” style:normal weight:400 stretch:100 src index:1) source: https://palmettoallegros.com/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member/assets/libs/legacy/fonticons/font/ionicons.woff?v=2.0.0

InstallTrigger is deprecated and will be removed in the future. rest-proxy:21:6163
Cookie “tk_tc” has been rejected for invalid domain. notifications

I have disabled all caches (e.g., Jetpack, Ultimate Member) and have adjusted image upload to 8MB max. If I’m using Microsoft Edge, opening Inspect sometimes triggers the picture display/crop screen and I can then select APPLY. But this is “Hit & Miss”. I have also Deactivated, Deleted and reinstalled Ultimate Member with no change. The photo upload has never worked correctly. ALSO, sometimes if I wait 30+ minutes, the picture display/crop screen will appear.

The issues happens on either desktop (using Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox) or Mobile (Chrome or Firefox).

Try to do both a Theme and a Plugin conflict test, if your Theme
or another of your active Plugins is causing a conflict with UM.

I have done both Theme (Changed to Twenty Twenty-Foun) and Plug-in conflict test and neither affects the photo upload. Inspect and Console errors are now:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.4.1 jquery-migrate.min.js:2:981

    3PC allowed admin-bar-v2.js:1:9321

InstallTrigger is deprecated and will be removed in the future. rest-proxy:21:6163

BTW, in Microsoft Edge, I was getting error related to Cross-Site cookies but I unblocked that in security settings for the browser. Photo Upload still not working.

Try to enable PHP error logging if the debug will give us some more info about this issue.

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1751-enable-debug-logging

You will probably get a PHP log file with notices and errors in this file:
    .../wp-content/debug.log

Post the content of this file here in the Forum.
You can remove any parts of the debug text with your domain info.

For best formatting use the Forum’s CODE format.

    PS – I turned DEBUG back off…

    @ppearcy

Look at your folder permissions in this UM guide

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/114-photo-uploads-not-working

    Thread Starter ppearcy

    (@ppearcy)

I’ve checked the permissions on the UM directory. They ‘were’ set to 0755 but I changed to 0774. HOWEVER, this breaks the profile and cover picture for all the users, so I have restored the folder to 0755. There ARE pictures in the sub-directories within the UM folder that appear to be the uploads for each of the users. It’s whatever function that ‘triggers’ the CROP and APPLY that seems to be missing.

As an OBTW, about half the time when I try and ‘inspect’ in the browser, the CROP and picture show up and sometimes I can then APPLY but It’s NOT consistent.

    Thread Starter ppearcy

    (@ppearcy)

PS – Just for ‘grins’ I tried 0777 permissions but that didn’t work either.

    @ppearcy

There are many cropping issues reported with UM.
An issue also with “Lazy loading” maybe like your debug log message

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/upload-crop-of-profile-picture-doesnt-work/

You can read about Open and Closed UM issues here

    Thread Starter ppearcy

    (@ppearcy)

I’ve downloaded and activate the “Disable Lazyload” plug-in but still no luck. Some additional information:

    1. I am logged in with Administrator Privileges
    2. The “public_html/wp-content/uploads/ultimatemember/2” directory has the uploaded photo in the various thumbnail sizes. HOWEVER, at times these are the LAST picture I tried to upload not current picture. (This almost sounds like CACHE issue but I’ve turned off JetPack Performance cache and WordPress Caching
    3. The Media Library has an Optimized version of the Profile Photo I’m uploading (multiple instances)
    4. The following ERROR still is showing..
    downloadable font: Glyph bbox was incorrect (glyph ids 3 5 25 36 38 39 40 41 45 47 55 56 59 64 67 70 71 78 83 84 86 96 112 119 120 149 150 161 162 174 202 214 229 231 232 233 244 245 251 252 265 274 280 291 294 299 308 309 338 358 402 428 435 436 444 445 446 447 460 534 535 546 547 595 596 609 610 611 612 662 672 673 701 719 721 722) (font-family: "Ionicons" style:normal weight:400 stretch:100 src index:1) source: https://palmettoallegros.com/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member/assets/libs/legacy/fonticons/font/ionicons.woff?v=2.0.0

Does the "Glyph bbox" refer to the crop background? or possible the Cookie "Tk_tc"?

I just tried using Google Chrome and got this error in the Console (purplek84 is the user’s profile I am trying to upload the photo for):

Do you have a Web hosting Firewall/Security application active like “Mod Security”?
Look at your cPanel or ask your Web hosting support.

    Hi MissVeronica,

I’ve checked with BlueHost and we DO NOT have a firewall installed (but they could for only $395). Thanks for all the time and assistance on this issue!

Try to look at your browser Ajax network responses from admin-ajax.php
in each step during your upload and the message if not successful.
