# PHP 5

 * I installed a pluging and some features were disabled, it was saying i need PHP
   5 and that it detected that i had PHP 4, how do i upgrade ?

 * Talk to your host about how to use PHP5 with your hosting account.
 * With some hosts (see [Core_Update_Host_Compatibility](http://codex.wordpress.org/Core_Update_Host_Compatibility))
   could be as simple as adding **AddType x-mapp-php5 .php** to the `.htaccess` 
   file

 * well it seems the plugin is the problem, host already installed PHP 5.2, plugin
   detecting PHP 4 for some strange reason

 * Hi,
 * It may be possible then your host provides PHP4 and PHP5 so change the PHP version
   to 5 from hosting control panel or contact your hosting service provider..
