# PHP 8.0 problem

 * The plugin doesn’t work with PHP 8.0
 * Works fine with PHP 7.4, but here’s what I get when using PHP 8:

 * The function is fine – you need to scroll down to get to the subscription options
   etc. But it looks very confusing, and very badly.
 * To get it to work with PHP 8.0, I need to disable Redis object cache from within
   the Litespeed cache plugin. Then it’s all good.
 * I also asked with the Litespeed plugin guys, to see if they have any ideas:

    I asked the hosting provider to have a look and check if it’s all fine
   on that end. Here’s the reply I got:
 * “While we do make PHP 8.0 available in our shared hosting environment, it is 
   still considered “new” and compatibility, module availability and performance
   is not guaranteed.
 * For the best compatibility, module availability and performance we suggest using
   PHP 7.4″

 * Hi,
 * Can you try this:
    - Go to WP Admin > StCR > Management Page
    - Set “Virtual management page” to “No” and save changes
    - Go to WP admin > Pages > Add New and create a page called “Comment subscriptions”,
      the permalink should be comment-subscriptions
    - For the content of the page add `[stcr_management_page]`

 * For Polylang websites the solution doesn’t work.
    So I still have to either use
   PHP 7.4, or disable object cache.

 * You’re welcome.
 * Can you share a bit more info? Did it fix the issue with those errors shown at
   the top of the page, but you’re experiencing other issues with PHP 8 and the 
   Litespeed object cache?

 * Thank you very much for taking the time to look into this.
    From further trial
   and error, I suppose the problem is with Polylang – manifesting itself only on
   multilingual websites.
 * It’s a separate problem – the subscription management not working for the non-
   default language(s).
