 * Greetings
 * I see many threads on this regard, but they are either a link to a page with
   many solutions not compatible with my server, or the OP went AWOL. I am getting
   this error. PHP cli Version and MySQLi support.
 * The site is hosted at WPEngine, which does have some different implementations.
 * I do see thread here [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/matomo-wordpress-problem/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/matomo-wordpress-problem/)
   but it seems to require editing core Plugin files.
 * My Path is ‘/usr/local/bin/php’ should I be following the suggestion there and
   edit ./wp-content/uploads/matomo/config/config.ini.php – does this mean I need
   to do this every time the Plugin is updated?
 * Thank you, I truly appreciate the hard work you put into this plugin
 * Daveed

 * Hi [@flexer](https://wordpress.org/support/users/flexer/) Thank you for using
   Matomo for WordPress plugin. To answer your question, it may or may not affect
   the configuration file. It depends on the specific plugin and how it handles
   updates. In some cases, plugin updates may overwrite the entire configuration
   file, including any custom changes made to it.
