 * Unsure if this issue is everywhere, but we are running into this error:
 * [24-Aug-2021 08:41:05 America/Toronto] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected‘-
   >’ (T_OBJECT_OPERATOR) in /plugins/wp-security-audit-log/classes/AlertFormatterFactory.
   php on line 39
 * Thoughts?

 * Thank you for using our plugin [@mstrykertbk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mstrykertbk/)
 * I am sorry to read about your issue. However, I’ll need more details to better
   understand the context. Can you please let us know:
 * 1) Do you know or have a number of steps to reproduce this?
    2) When exactly
   is this being reported? 3) What version of the plugin, WordPress and PHP are
   you using?
 * The more details you can give us the easier it will be for us to assist you.
 * Looking forward to hearing from you.

 * [@robert681](https://wordpress.org/support/users/robert681/) Thank you for getting
   back to me.
 * 1) The plugin had been updated, and suddenly caused the site not to load.
    2)
   As soon as the plugin was installed 3) – Plugin: Version 4.3.2 – WordPress 4.9.1–
   PHP 5.6.40
 * Hope this helps!

 * The minimum supported PHP in the latest version of the plugin is 7.0. Quick fix
   would be to revert to a previous version of plugin.

 * Hello [@mstrykertbk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mstrykertbk/)
 * Indeed, the version of PHP that you are using is causing the issue.
 * However, from the security and also reliability point of view, I would not revert
   back the plugin version. I would update PHP. Version 5.6 is no longer supported
   by PHP. It’s end of life was 1st January 2019.
 * I would recommend you to upgrade PHP to at least version 7.4.
 * I hope the above helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
