 * Hi guys,
 * I upgraded Popup Box from v2.2.9 to v.2.3.0 today.
    On upgrade my WP stopped
   working with a critical error.
 * The error log showed the following:
    [26-May-2021 05:08:17 UTC] PHP Parse error:
   syntax error, unexpected ‘fon’ (T_STRING), expecting function (T_FUNCTION) or
   const (T_CONST) in /home4/fiigurec/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ays-popup-box/
   public/class-ays-pb-public.php on line 24
 * I have therefore rolled back, but wanted to flag this to you at the earliest
   opportunity.
    My site is all up to date using WP 5.7.2 and PHP 7.0.33
 * Hope this information is helpful to you and others who may experience the same.
 * Thanks,
    Thiru

 * Hi Dear [@thiruc](https://wordpress.org/support/users/thiruc/) ,
 * Thank you for the topic.
 * We have checked the latest version of the plugin however have not faced the issue
   you are experiencing. For your information, we made only CSS changes on the latest
   update.
 * We checked your website and noticed that you are using the 2.3.0 version. Are
   you still facing the issue?
 * Also, the line mentioned in error log is empty.
 * Thank you.

 * Hi guys,
 * Thank you for the prompt response.
 * If your check shows version 2.3.0, I can only imagine it is using some form of
   cache.
 * I have had a closer look at the archive files from the upgrade and found that
   a spurious string was inserted in the upgrade copy of the file, see extract below:
 *     ```
       class Ays_Pb_Public {
       fon
       	/**
       	 * The ID of this plugin.
       ```
 * I will try to perform the upgrade again and check the result.
 * Thanks,
 * Thiru
 * Thank you for your reply, Dear [@thiruc](https://wordpress.org/support/users/thiruc/).
 * We checked again on our codes and have not found the given line. Presumably,
   you or your developer made changes to the codes.
 * You can download the zip file of the plugin from WordPress, check and make sure
   by yourself.
 * Thank you.
 * Thanks for the information.
    I think it was likely as per your explanation where
   a find command also added the line in. The file in question is always edited
   to load a local version of font-awesome for performance reasons. 🙂
 * Thanks for the diligence.
 * Best Regards,
 * Thiru
