# PHP excerpt issue

 * On my site, [http://www.middreut.com](http://www.middreut.com), we’ve had a ramdom
   excerpt in the Attorney spotlight. A different attorney shows up every time you
   land on the home page.
 * However, since I upgraded the site to the newest version, the random excerpt 
   is now showing an attorney one time, then a blank space the 2nd time, etc.
 * We were using this code: <?php random_excerpt(); ?>
 * since some things like the links code have changed, I was curious if need to 
   alter this too. Thanks for any help.

 * There is no random_excerpt() function in WordPress, so you’ll need to examine
   your theme’s function files to find out how that function works.
