 * Hi,
 * I’ve got a problem on several sites.
    Error generates the following error message:
 * mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in
   XXX/wp-includes/theme-compat/embed.php on line 13, referer: [https://XXX/wp-includes/theme-compat/embed.php](https://XXX/wp-includes/theme-compat/embed.php)
 * Any idea?
 * Thanks!

 * Check the referrer — you may see that if someone is directly hitting PHP files(
   i.e., someone looking to see if you have vulnerable files) on your site.
 * Do you see the error if the site is approached through “proper” pathways?

 * Hi [@sterndata](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sterndata/)
 * Thanks for your answer 🙂
 * The referrer is my own site so it’s like:
 * mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in
   MYSITE/wp-includes/theme-compat/embed.php on line 13, referer: [https://MYSITE/wp-includes/theme-compat/embed.php](https://MYSITE/wp-includes/theme-compat/embed.php)
 * > Do you see the error if the site is approached through “proper” pathways?
 * What do you mean exactly?
 * Thanks!

 * Is “embed.php” being referenced directly via a GET or POST? That’s the sort of
   error you’d see if it were.
