# PHP Installation for 2.7

 * Hi folks, I downloaded the 2.7 version, read the directions. I clicked on install.
   php file and a window came up asking me what program to open the install.php 
   file. Being unfamiliar with php, I really don’t what or even if I have a program
   on my system to install php. I am running windows vista. Has anyone run into 
   this problem before? Thanks.

 * sounds like you downloaded wordpress, and are trying to install it to your pc
   like its going to show up in your startmenu.
 * wrong way. wordpress isnt that kind of application.

 * I also seem to have the same issue. I am totally new to this. When I go to the
   browser where my blog is installed, which was done with Fantastico. All usernames
   passwords etc are in place, but i just get the directory listing of the blog 
   with all the wordpress files. When I select one it asks if I should open or save
   the file? I can’t get into the dashboard of wordpress?

 * sounds like index.php isn’t enabled for directories
    ask your host to fix this
   or add this to your .htaccess `DirectoryIndex index.php index.html`
