# PHP source code and WP/Markdown

 * Hi,
    I’m using wordpress for a tutorial website i’m running. I want to add some
   php source code. I have the markdown plug-in running.
 * I’m putting the code in `backticks` but the wordpress formatting is adding a 
   space between `<` and `?php`. Which is annoying.
 * Any way i can prevent this from happening?
