 * My dashboard has a constant notification that my PHP needs updating. It reads
   exactly this: Your site is running an insecure version of PHP (7.0.33), which
   should be updated.
    After hours of searching online, reading comments in the
   forums, and chatting with customer support with my host company, I managed to
   update my php to 7.4 and then verify that with my host company. WordPress STILL
   shows the message Im running the old PHP. Everything says its up to date. WordPress
   plugins and themes. The Support I spoke to assured me php was updated. What do
   I dooooo??
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fphp-update-15%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Hm, well I wouldn’t worry about it too much tbh.
    Does your WordPress need updating?
   Can you install and run this plugin and see the results? [https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/](https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
 * It only takes a minute to login to your host and check:

 * Hi eclecticred,
 * As corrinarusso mentioned, I wouldn’t worry about it right now.
 * The script is likely running as as a scheduled job, so the health check wouldn’t
   instantly recognize the update.
 * If it’s not cleared out by tomorrow let me know, I’ll take a closer look at the
   code.
 * Cheers,
    Benjamin

 * I did run the php compatibility checker, but it has not changed anything. I managed
   to remove three of the notifications by deactivating one of my plugins, but now
   I dont have that plugin and there is still a PHP NEEDS UPDATED message on my
   dashboard home. 🙁

 * If you’re still concerned about it, then just use the tools from Bluehost to
   create a staging site like this:
    [https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/wordpress-how-to-create-a-staging-site#bluehost-plugin](https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/wordpress-how-to-create-a-staging-site#bluehost-plugin)
 * From your staging site, deactviate all plugins, and install a default WordPress
   theme like this:
    [https://en-ca.wordpress.org/themes/twentytwenty/](https://en-ca.wordpress.org/themes/twentytwenty/)
 * re-activate all your plugins one-by-one until you see the see the message appear.
   Go through this process in order to isolate if there is a conflict being thrown
   from a plugin / theme.
