 * I got a message to update my PHP. I have no idea where to do that. Is that within
   my WordPress account (could not find where) or on my cPanel from my host?
 * I know that the company that hosts my website, very recently upgraded to the
   newest version of PHP.
 * So, where can I do the update for PHP?

 * Hi [@thebeatco](https://wordpress.org/support/users/thebeatco/), PHP upgrades
   are usually done through your web host. If you have a cPanel, there is likely
   a spot to do this – although some hosting companies may disable it. The best
   thing to do is contact your web host’s support or check their documentation.
 * Also, you’ll want to note that upgrading can sometimes “break” your website.
   This is the case if you have an older site that has an outdated theme or plugins.
   If that happens, you’ll want to go back to the previous version of PHP you were
   using. From there, you’ll need to repair or replace the offending theme/plugin
   before trying the upgrade again.
 * Ideally, it’s better to test this sort of upgrade on a staging environment (a
   separate copy of your site used for testing) BEFORE doing so on your live site.

 * Hi, in your cPanel check to see if you have the Select PHP Version or MultiPHP
   Manager. Both these options allow you to change your PHP version from cPanel.
   Check the current version and switch to a newer one.
