 * WordPress has been notifying me that my PHP version 7.0.33 required update due
   to security issues. My hosting company now has 7.4.16 available. I ran the PHP
   Compatibility checker and the report showed that “some plugins or themes were
   skipped as they were too large to scan before the server killed the process”.
   I also got a syntax error: unexpected end of JSON Input. I decided to ask my
   hosting company to upgrade my PHP to the new version. Big mistake – when it completed,
   I had no content showing on my website. My hosting company put my site back to
   the older version of PHP but that did not have any effect. After some sleuthing,
   they determined that the issue was the Site Origins Page Builder plug-in and
   they disabled it. I can now see the text on my website, but not the photograph
   that forms the background for my home page or any of the photo banners on several
   of my other pages. I’ve tried upgrading the plugin to the latest version and
   activating it again but when I do that I lose all my content again.
    I am not
   a very experienced web designer and I really don’t know what to do next, so I
   am reaching out to the experts for some assistance. I did back-up my site before
   upgrading the PHP but have not tried a restore of the site yet. Can anyone provide
   me with assistance on how to get my website back to where it was before the PHP
   update? Many thanks.

 * Hi, thanks for reaching out.
 * The errors relate to the legacy widgets bundled with Page Builder. We’ve started
   the process of updating them but it’s quite a bit of work. The easiest option
   to resolve the issue immediately would be to remove the legacy widgets and instead
   make use of the matching widget from the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.
 * The legacy widgets bundled with Page Builder are:
 * animated-image
    button call-to-action list price-box testimonial
 * Animated Image and List don’t have a matching option in the SiteOrigin Widgets
   Bundle but the others do.
 * How many pages do you have that make use of the above widgets? PHP should ideally
   be downgraded while resolving the issue.

 * Alternatively, you can try the below beta release version of Page Builder which
   has a limited resolution for the issue:
 * [https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/siteorigin-panels.2.15.4-beta-2.zip](https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/siteorigin-panels.2.15.4-beta-2.zip)
 * Once the ZIP file is on your desktop, head over to Plugins > Add New > Upload
   Plugin. Select the ZIP file and overwrite the existing version of Page Builder
   when prompted. A site backup/restore point should ideally be made before proceeding.
   It isn’t essential but it would be prudent.

 * I have been able to resolve the issue with my website by downgrading my PHP for
   now. Thanks so much for your assistance and I’ll look forward to the updates
   to Page Builder.

 * Hi Dale
 * Thanks for the update. We’ll release a new version of Page Builder during the
   week. If possible, please, let us know how it goes.
 * Thanks again.
