# PHP Version Support?

 * Recently upgraded our VPS to a new server with PHP8.1 now the default. I am now
   getting warnings for backups
   PHP event: code E_WARNING: file_exists(): open_basedir
   restriction in effect. File(/proc/user_beancounters) is not within the allowed
   path(s): (/home/mysite/:/tmp/:/var/tmp/:/opt/alt/php81/usr/share/pear/:/dev/urandom:/
   usr/local/php81/lib/:/usr/local/php81/lib/:/usr/local/php74/lib/:/usr/local/php71/
   lib/:/usr/local/php56/lib/:/usr/local/lib/php/) (line 190, wp-content/plugins/
   updraftplus/backup.php)If I revert it back to 7.4 there are no issues.

 * Hi yes I have the latest version, this has now happened on three sites

 * Might be an issue with how >PHP 8 resolves paths. 
   It should not affect your 
   ability to create backups.
