# PHP Warning – Failed to write session data

 * Hi all
 * Hope someone can help with this rather annoying problem, please take a look at
   the error message from my debug log from my wordpress site….
 * [03-Feb-2019 10:14:23 UTC] PHP Warning: Unknown: open(/home/sites/autoprint.co.
   uk/tmp//sess_kj8ii25a9osl3tse7lu5i993u0, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory(
   2) in Unknown on line 0
    [03-Feb-2019 10:14:23 UTC] PHP Warning: Unknown: Failed
   to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.
   save_path is correct (/home/sites/autoprint.co.uk/tmp/) in Unknown on line 0
 * I got a 500 error on my website while browsing and this is the debug error log.
 * Now after rehitting refresh a couple or more times, the pages eventually load
   up. So not sure what is happening here??
 * I recently started serving my website over HTTPS, so im thinking maybe the problem
   lies in that?
 * If anyone could help that would be great.
 * I have read up about this and found that its something related to access restrictions
   on my host side but this didn’t seem to be an issue before moving over to HTTPS,
   so im hoping it can be fixed my end as the host my company uses is terrible at
   getting back to us!

 * WordPress does not use PHP Sessions. So, ask your host or disable the plugin 
   you installed that does use sessions.

 * So this is related to a plugin rather than wordpress its self? Its just odd as
   it was all working fine before I switched to https.
 * I guess i should speak to my host and try to figure out what plugin is causing
   this issue to fix this…all my current plugins are needed for my site to function
   properly so disabling/removing one is not really a viable option.

 * Haven’t the faintest idea what specifically broke there, but I do know this: 
   WordPress does not use PHP Sessions. Simple. So, whatever is causing errors involving“
   sessions”, it ain’t WordPress.
