# PHP8 Compatibility

* Hello,
* thank you for your great plugin. I’m doing first tests with WordPress 5.6, Ninja
Forms 3.4.33 on a PHP8 system. At first i got a hard error at line 247 of:
`
ninja-forms/deprecated/includes/admin/edit-field/li.php` which stated that curly
brackets are not allowed for accessing arrays. So i changed it to: … `} elseif(!
empty($v) && is_string($v) && ( ('{' == $v[0] && '}' == $v[strlen($v) - 1]) |
| ('[' == $v[0] && ']' == $v[strlen($v) - 1]) || preg_match('/^\(?function ?\(/',
$v) ) ) {` … which seems to work for now. But i’m a little bit afraid that there
are more issues hidden in the code which are currently not shown just because
code is not entered.
* Is there PHP8 compatibility planned?

are still waiting for them to acknowledge it:

Can you update your Ninja Forms plugin to the latest version (3.5.1) and let
me know if you continue to have the same issues with PHP 8? If you are still

* No sorry i’m getting the same error with version 3.5.1:
`Fatal error: Array
and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported in /

* If i’m change line 247 and replace the curly braces from:

We’re still getting in our logs (as above):

* To be clear: I’m on PHP 7.4. I just replied to this PHP 8 thread because the
log messages matched.
