# Pingback Oddity

 * All right . . . I am starting to add posts to my new WP installation. To get 
   clean entries, I am manually copying posts from e107 and cleaning up the code
   as I go. It will be a time-consuming, but I hope, worthwhile, task.
 * What I am finding now is that I am getting pingbacks from what I am entering.
   I think that is good. 🙂 Yet, when I look at the pingbacks, all it is an excerpt
   from my post. I do not believe anyone is actually pinging the post (although,
   perhaps I am wrong).
 * Am I doing something wrong with this?

 * Self-pinging happens if you have a link to an earlier post of yours with a full(
   absolute) path link.
 * Or are you talking about something else?
