    I understand you’re seeing the “Place order” button active even though no payment method is available, and I can see how that might feel confusing at checkout. I’m happy to clarify how this works.

    In WooCommerce, the “Place order” button can still appear active even when no valid payment method is available. However, the order will not be processed. When a customer clicks the button, they will be prompted with an “Invalid payment method” message, preventing the order from going through.

    This usually means no payment gateway is configured or available at checkout. To help guide you in the right direction, could you share a bit more about your setup:

    • Is there a reason you haven’t added a payment method yet
    • What is your intended checkout flow or goal for your store

    Understanding your goal will help determine whether this behavior is expected for your use case or if we should adjust the setup.

    In the meantime, you can review your payment settings under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments to ensure at least one gateway is enabled and properly configured.
