hey there, thanks for developing. i spoke to some clients and its a bit confusing becaus the options now are
    [paypal]
    [credit card]
    [pay upon invoice]

which all is handled by paypal. but most of the costumers believe you need an paypal account to use the addional payment options [sepa, giropay and sofort] which is not the case. according to there feedback it’s very confusing out of the box.
so i would suggest to switch to a more userfriendly scenario:

[paypal] > shows buttons to pay now or later (you need an account)
[alternative payment] > shows buttons for sepa, giropay and sofort
[credit card] > opens field for credentials
[pay upon invoice] > leads to payrate

    thanks and all my best
    thomas

    Hi @telemarker,

“Standalone alternative payment methods” with a separate payment gateway for every payment method, similar to the new Pay upon Invoice gateway, will be added sometime in the future. Some development efforts are already committed to this feature, but only for the default credit card smart button for now.

So at this time, the best way to clarify the requirements for the customers would be to set an appropriate gateway title and/or description.
    For example, something like this:

    PayPal or local payment methods
Pay with your PayPal account or local payment methods with no PayPal account required.

The payment method availability is determined automatically by PayPal, so unless the shop is selling exclusively locally, a wide range of different buttons could appear.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
