Please help. Excerpt not working

    Excerpt is not working in single.php or page.php. It ignores the <!–more–> tag and it shows whole content. In index.php it works fine. I am desperate 🙁

    that is the default behaviour.

    what would you want to do with an excerpt in a single post?
