# Please help: External SQL file import to wp-posts

 * Hello fellow wordpressers! 🙂
 * I was hoping if you could help me or pointing me to the right forum?
    I am trying
   to import an SQL database file with about 800 old posts into my new, clean wordpress
   site as posts. But after importing with myphpadmin, it only appears as a new 
   datasheet next to the other wordpress datasheets. When i am trying to import 
   into the wp-posts set, it still wont import there either.
 * My question is: Is there a way to move/convert/import the sql file into the post
   section of the wordpress database to create posts?

 * hi there,
 * have you found a solution? was your old post created with WordPress? you may 
   consider importing the sql into a table, exporting the old posts in csv format,
   and import it back as posts again using plugins such as WP All Import. there 
   are many options to customize the import process and it is a free plugin.
