• Hello. I wanted to start a blog. The url is gianluca.mobi – No matter what theme I select the header needs to be cropped causing me to lose not only half the image but also losing the quality of the image. If you go to my blog now you’ll see gianluca ontop and its all blurred and like I mentioned its only the bottom half of what the header should be. I have installed numerous themes and the same issue again and again. I really want to start working on my blog but until I figure out this header I am not moving forward lol. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I would love to resolve this asap so I can actually sleep tonight with a clear mind. Thank you so much for your help!!!

I am using Safari on my iMac

If this is the wrong forum I apologize, obviously I am a stunod lol.

I’m pretty sure it’s your theme, the site that is credited for the theme is on the Base64 Evil Doers list and is not GPL compatible.

Just in case, have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

Thanks for the reply Jan. I only had 1 plugin installed which I deactivated. I then switched to the Twenty Eleven theme and it only let me crop half the image as you can see by going to the site now. As far as the folders go, I’m not sure how to use them as my hosting is thru godaddy. I did go to my file manager and added the image there but as far as uploading any pics to the site I go to my dashboard on WP and under Appearance I click Header. I didnt think I had to use my godaddy file manager to add media since the dashboard tells me what I want to do just doesnt allow me to do it.

The image looks like a low resolution crop or plainly put, really unattractive…

That image is 1000px x 288px, try cropping the image outside of WordPress and upload that image instead.

agreed it looks horrible on there lol. Looks perfect everywhere else. I’ll keep plugging away or go with an entirely different one. Thanks again!

Jan, so here is what I am on to. I saved the ugly blurred image onto my desktop that way the banner size was accurate. I went into Sketchbook Pro and opened the image and cleared it then added a new image within the banner I cleared. I uploaded and although small its alot cleaner and it fit. Now I must repeat the steps and believe I’m FINALLY on the right path. Thanks for having me crop outside of WP.
