 * i always use external images in my posts. but this plugin is not generating thumbnails
   for url-linked images. is it supposed to generate thumbnails for uploaded images
   only?

 * hi blog4kolkata,
 * I have the same issue and I think it only works for uploaded images. When making
   a regular post i am also not able to create a featured image from an external
   link.
