 * BUWP isn’t working! WTF!
 * Version 1.3.1, WP 3.2.1.
 * “Back Up Now” does nothing. No new backups appear. No new files in backups/.
   Nothing in error log.
 * 4 existing backups from recent days only contain the SQL dump, no files.
 * I’ve set no constants in wp-config.php. Defaults ought to apply.
 * Exasperated. If can’t rely on backups…

 * Download links don’t work either, and _no indication_ of failure. WTF?
 * URLs like
    [http://www.example.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=backupwordpress&hmbkp_download=L21udC&#8230](http://www.example.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=backupwordpress&hmbkp_download=L21udC&#8230);
   just display the plugin’s page, no indication that a download was supposed to
   have been in the response instead?
 * Also, just noticed this in php_errors.log:
    [28-Aug-2011 23:04:58] PHP Warning:
   Wrong parameter count for fwrite() in /foo/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/
   functions/backup.functions.php on line 64

 * Same here. No files in backup, only the sqldump. Appache error log shows
    “**
   fwrite() expects at least 2 parameters, 1 given in ……/backup.functions.php on
   line 64**”

 * Same here. Just realized that no automatic backups have taken place since late-
   June. Last 10 backups still there. Click Backup Now and nothing happens. Removed
   several old backups. Tried again. Still nothing.
 * Version 1.3.1, WP 3.2.1. All settings are default. (Not techy enough to dare
   change anything)

 * Post-script: Wondering if there is a relationship between your “Last Updated:
   2011-6-7” and my last successful backup June 22?

 * Hi Guys.
 * Really sorry we’ve not been around to answer support – we’ve been super busy.
 * Thanks for reporting the bug Ilan, RvDam. This will be fixed in the next release.
 * INTJKim – could you just give me some information on your setup – WordPress version,
   and whether you are on a windows server or not as these are the cause of most
   bugs.
 * If it is something else – we will investigate further.

 * I have just updated the development version on the plugin repository.
 * Give it a try if you are still having problems.

 * Please try 1.3.2 and see if that resolves your issues, if not please email [support@humanmade.co.uk](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-backupwordpress-buwp-not-working/support@humanmade.co.uk?output_format=md)
   and we’ll do our best to get to the bottom of things.

 * I have the same problem everyone else has listed. I installed the plugin via
   WordPress (logged in) and it says it’s scheduled a nightly backup. But no backups
   appear in my cpanel, just an empty backup folder. When I tell it to backup my
   database and files (45MB) manually in WordPress, it does this – a 30MB zipped
   file that appears in the backup folder. And I can’t find anything wrong in this
   file. But the scheduled backup system itself doesn’t seem to be working at all.
   I need a simple automated daily backup!

 * If your manual backups are working but your automatic backups are failing then
   that points to an issue with wp-cron not working as thats how the automatic backups
   are kicked off.
 * Could you try scheduling a post for 30 min in the future and then going back
   30 min later and seeing if it published correctly or missed it’s schedule.

 * I scheduled a test post for 30+ minutes later and it published on time as scheduled.
 * [http://www.skandarandgeorgie.com/2011/11/18/test-2/](http://www.skandarandgeorgie.com/2011/11/18/test-2/)
 * I did find the following in an error log. What does it mean?
 * [01-Nov-2011 23:19:35] PHP Warning: require(wordpress./wp-blog-header.php) [[function.require](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-backupwordpress-buwp-not-working/function.require?output_format=md)]:

 * Peace, Skangie,
 * Your failing require() problem seems unrelated to the BUWP plugin problems.
 * Line 17 in index.php (we’re in WP 3.2.1, yes?) does indeed read
    `require('./
   wp-blog-header.php');`
 * How did you get that “wordpress” prefixed to it?! I’ve no idea.
    Maybe dig through
   [http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.require.php](http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.require.php).
   Glancing at it, I can’t imagine how you got that weird error message, as if PHP
   failed to understand the relative path “./”? (But then, I _hate_ PHP, so pro’ly
   missing something.)
 * Anyway, this forum sucks (search results mostly obsolete, unresolved, uncategorized…),
   so generally I’d prefer asking in [https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/](https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/).
 * Hmm, note the timestamp on your errors, Nov-01. Could be they’re stale, from
   an older WP version, or when you were messing with .htaccess, or something?

 * Hi all,
 * There’s a new development version which has a lot of fixes, would be great if
   you could test it and report back.
