 * Why have support forums in 2 places for bbpress – here and on bbpress.org?
 * I think it wastes developers’ time because they have to look in 2 places, and
   it confuses users who don’t always know where to post/read…

 * Because bbPress was only (relatively) recently released as a plugin. Prior to
   that it was a standalone application.

 * So…historical reasons….
 * Well, in that case, there may be a case for a merger here…

 * True. Same for the plugins. Plugins for bbPress 2 are found in the WordPress
   plugin directory. They should archive the old plugin directory.

 * > historical reasons
 * Not just historical. Many people are still using the standalone version of bbPress.
   For them, the correct place to ask for help would be the bbPress forums.

 * I see. In that case probably they should split the support. Here for the WP plugin,
   on bbpress.org forums for legacy (standalone) support.
