# Plugin causes massive PHP-FPM load – caching options?

 * I have been using this plugin for a long time and have always excluded it from
   my cache and CDN (based on advice in this forum at the time).
 * However, now it is causing server load (specifically PHP-FPM process) issues.
   I do get a significant number of web story views (and my server is extremely
   high spec).
 * Does anyone have information on a cache/CDN setup that will work for web stories
   and still let them function as intended?

 * [@mdotk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mdotk/) Thank you for your post.
   Which caching plugin / CDN solution are you using?
 * Is it possible for you to create a fresh new site on the same hosting plan and
   just install the Web Stories plugin? Could you test to see if you get the same
   issue on this site as with the other site?
 * If you are still facing the same issue then it may be related to hosting or it
   could be due to other applications running on your machine. It might also be
   worth testing on another device if you have one available.
 * Are you able to perform any of these tests?

 * Hi [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/)
 * I use Cloudfront and WP-Rocket.
 * I run the web-stories on other servers and sites, but they get FAR less web story
   views (like 99% less) so it’s not really possible to compare.
 * If you could tell me whether caching/CDN is possible with web-stories I would
   like to test that out.
 * Thanks!

 * [@mdotk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mdotk/) With this in mind would
   it be possible for you to export your WP Rocket settings and share via a shareable
   URL here? To export the settings you will need to go to Settings > WP Rocket
   > Tools > Export Settings > Download Settings.

 * Hi [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/) I could, but
   it wouldn’t be much help because this stops all caching of web-stories pages
   under “Never Cache URL(s)”
 * `/web-stories/(.*)`
 * Are you saying that WP-Rocket can now be used to cache web stories? As I said
   in my first post:
 * > I have been using this plugin for a long time and have always excluded it from

 * I’m happy to experiment with turning it on. LMK. Thanks!

 * [@mdotk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mdotk/) The file optimization settings
   like minifying JS and CSS caused compatibility issues with the plugin because
   they weren’t detecting the URL as an AMP URL. You don’t need to exclude the Web
   Stories URL anymore since the issues have been resolved.
 * WP-Rocket should work fine if you don’t enable a setting that causes invalid
   AMP.

 * Thanks [@luckynasan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/luckynasan/), I found
   this too. [https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/1326-using-amp-plugins](https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/1326-using-amp-plugins)
 * I will re-enable everything and see what happens.
