Hi @golazphil,
I’m unfamiliar with this bug and can’t figure it out; since it is proper to 2 sites, please feel free to share 1 URL in the field “Link to the page you need help with:”
@golazphil
These issues are typically caused by inline scripts containing the footnote start tag short code. That would be at least the case of the mobile menu.
There are two possible fixes:
- Raise the priority to a higher level than the code adding the script.
- Change for safer shortcodes such as
{{{ and its counterpart.
To be more precise, we need to look into a page source and therefore need a URL.
Our apologies for the delayed response, and for the status that I found as “not support”. It was immediately changed to “not resolved”.
@golazphil,
Sorry for being late bringing you a full response. I’ve now tested a website using Footnotes with standard double parentheses (( and )) shortcodes, by visiting a post with a picture on a smartphone. The mobile menu works, the picture displays, the tooltips show up, the reference container expands and collapses as designed, and moving to anchors works too. Everything is fully functional. The theme is GeneratePress, WordPress is up-to-date at v5.6.2, Footnotes is current stable v2.5.10.
If you experience trouble with a broken mobile menu and broken pictures, I’d suggest that you temporarily switch to GeneratePress theme and look if the disorder persists. Then we need to try debugging your theme so it won’t conflict with Footnotes any longer, or conversely apply a fix on Footnotes’ side. But to do that, we need some information about the theme you are using.
As we haven’t yet received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Please feel free to reopen this topic if you still encounter the issues, or open a new support topic, and we’d be happy to assist.
Best regards.
