 * I just realized that WP Updates Notifier stopped working in my test blog where
   I monitor the status of all plugins I use in any of my sites. The reason was
   a conflict with the MailPoet Newsletters Plugin. After disabling MailPoet, WP
   Updates Notifier continued to scan and inform me as expected. I suspect a conflict
   regarding the cron job feature.
 * This message is intended to inform the plugin author about the conflict so that
   he can get in touch with the MailPoet guys to sort out who should make alterations
   to which plugin in order to let them work together peacefully… 🙂

 * Hi Zonebattler,
 * We will have a look and see what may be going wrong.
 * Are you referring to: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/wysija-newsletters/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wysija-newsletters/)
 * Or a premium version of that plugin? Just curious so I can get them both installed
   and try to replicate the issue.
 * Thanks,
    Evan

 * Hi Evan,
 * yes, I’m referring to the WYSIJA (= “what you see is just awesome”) newsletter
   plugin which has been renamed to MailPoet (which is much more comprehensive).
   I use the free version in one project and the payed (premium) version in another
   one, however since the premium version adds an extension plugin in another folder
   and the issue occurs in the free version, I think it will be enough to test the
   free/basic version.
 * As soon as you activate MailPoet (which is a true gem and a masterpiece), WP
   Updates Notifier stops to notify the user about updates (you can see that the
   timestamp of the last check doesn’t change anymore). As I was suggesting in my
   first post, I think the cron job tasks of the plugins are getting into the way
   of each other…
 * Thanks for taking care of it!
 * Yours,
    Ralph
