[plugin: Contact Form 7] Explode values and advanced coding for email output

Hi, I have a few issues below I’d like to accomplish with CF7 but haven’t got into additional coding for CF7 (yet). Can anyone point me to good place(s) to start/learn – thanks

1) Explode name in mail(2)
Rather than have separate fields for first and last name, I’d like to explode the name field in mail(2) so John Smith pulls through as John for a confirmation email, ie Dear John

2) Explode selector values in mail
Some of the option values in one selector have bracketed additions ie Value (bracketed value). How to explode or filter this in the first email (mail) to lose/hide the brackets and bracketed values, but keep them in mail(2)?

3) Empty value – can we add a line to the email where a non-required value is empty to display ‘n/a’?

4) File attachment – if a file upload fails its validation, can it be removed rather than having to be entered correctly or another file selected?

5) With file attachments, can we add a line to the email response to say ‘See files attached’ or ‘no files attached’ depending on whether any files have been uploaded?
