# [Plugin: Contextual Related Posts] Custom Post Types

 * Hi Ajay! I’ve been using a couple of plugins for creating Custom Post Types and
   Custom Fields ([this](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/types/) is the best
   I’ve found), and CRP does not work with them.
 * I think it’s because WP does not understand the custom post types as regular 
   posts, and any query expecting regular posts does not retrieves them. Even something
   basic as `get_author_posts_url` does not work, and you have to tweak it to get
   non-regular posts.
 * Do you have any idea about how to modify CRP in order to work? I’m trying to 
   deal with [this plugin](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/better-related/) 
   for now, but I really would like to keep CRP as always.

 * I’ll need to take a look at how that other plugin also implements custom post
   types.
 * It has always been a complicated set to implement and I have had this on the 
   charts for a while.
 * I’ll need to start modifying my testing blog for custom post types to ensure 
   that I have some relevant results.
 * Can’t promise a time-line, but let me see what i can do.

   support
