See [https://api.twitterstat.us/incidents/y9xx059cv0fv](https://api.twitterstat.us/incidents/y9xx059cv0fv). Because your plugin seems to do a synchronous call to Twitter, it basically brought down two of our sites, cncf.io and lfph.io. I don’t see any errors but just long delays in load time during that window when the twitter API was having issues. [Here is the New Relic graph](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Te8nSMnewGqOehppt9xO9qxFw0lSNPyI/view) showing the long load times of the twitter api call. I myself was asleep at the time, however, people reported that the site was “down” or “loaded intermittently”.
