 * This plugin automatically updated 10/5/25 – corrupting my site database: All-
in-One WP Migration and Backup (from version 7.99 to 7.100). The site message
is ” error establishing a database connection.”
 * Additionally, the online wordpress.org dashboard no longer shows up when I sign
   in.
 * I accessed the site prior to this update and it was fine.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fplugin-crashed-database%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hi.
Thank you for reaching out. I hope you are doing well. “error establishing
a database connection” is a very concerning error and I understand your frustration.
 * However, I want to clarify that our plugin does not modify database connection
settings or credentials during updates. The “error establishing a database connection”
message indicates an issue with your database configuration (typically in wp-
config.php), database server availability, or hosting environment, not the plugin
   files themselves.
 * The timing of the error coinciding with the plugin update is likely coincidental.
   Common causes include:
    – Database server downtime or restart by your host –
Changed database credentials – Corrupted wp-config.php file – Exhausted database
   resources or connection limits
 * I recommend the following steps to resolve this:
    1. Contact your hosting provider
to verify the database server is running and accessible 2. Verify your database
   credentials in wp-config.php are correct
 * The plugin update only modifies plugin files in /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-
wp-migration/ and doesn’t touch database configuration or credentials.
