• Yesterday I spent 2 hours setting up everything. Everything worked fine and the ads displayed ok, but this morning I saw that all banners disappeared from all pages. I looked at the plugin list in WP, and the Advanced Ad plugin was not there anymore. And above the plugins I saw an error message:
“The plugin advanced-ads/advanced-ads.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.”
(Needless to say that I haven’t deleted anything. Yesterday evening everything worked.)
It is true, though, that this exact thing has happened to me with Woocommerce in the past. However, other plugins are fine.
    My hosting provider is Hostgator.

    Hi debildebil,

I am sorry to hear that you lost your work.

Advanced Ads has no “feature” to remove itself, so there must be an explanation with your hosting, maybe a broken backup or similar. The error you see only indicates that WordPress can not access the main plugin file.

When you add Advanced Ads again and activate it, your ads will still be there, so your work is not lost. It is still crutial though to figure out what happened here after all, so please let me know if the folder “advanced-ads” still exists in the plugin folder and you have any backup running.

    Thanks
    Thomas
