 * All the admin items that were previously hidden by the plugin are now visible,
   but not accessible.
 * I tried everything, even restoring to the default menu but it seems that none
   of the admins have enough permissions.
 * [http://website.com/wp-admin/?reset_admin_menu=1](http://website.com/wp-admin/?reset_admin_menu=1)
 * or:
 * [http://website.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=menu_editor&sub_section=settings](http://website.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=menu_editor&sub_section=settings)
 * Gives me this error: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.(
   to all the 3 admins)
 * Can you tell me how to grant the necessary permissions to the admin in phpmyadmin
   or how to remove the redirection (to 404 page) all the previously hidden admin
   menu items have?
 * I can’t access any of the plugins for reactivation and updates. The site has
   been scanned for hackings and it hasn’t been hacked nor have any other issue.
 * Please advise.
 * Thank you

 * Does the problem go away if you deactivate Admin Menu Editor? Even if you no
   longer have access to the “Plugins” page, you can still force WordPress to deactivate
   it by renaming the `admin-menu-editor` folder in `/wp-content/plugins` to something
   else (e.g. `admin-menu-editor-2`).
 * Also, when exactly did this problem start happening? Was it after you installed
   or updated another plugin? I ask this because the error message that you’re seeing
   was not generated by AME; the text doesn’t match any of the error messages in
   this plugin.

 * The problem does not go away, even if I deactivate all the plugins in phpmyadmin(
   I can’t access /plugins.php in the dashboard, or I rename the plugin as you indicate.
 * I think it starting happening after an update of the plugin [https://wp-client.com](https://wp-client.com).
   I already contacted them but they can’t find the iseue either. THe error message
   belongs to that plugin.
 * I deactivated that plugin too, nothing happened.

 * If deactivating Admin Menu Editor did not fix the problem, then it was not caused
   by this plugin. Admin Menu Editor doesn’t make any _permanent_ changes to the
   admin menu or role permissions. As soon as you deactivate it, all changes that
   it has made to those settings disappear (until you re-activate the plugin).
 * Unfortunately, it sounds like you’ll need to look for a solution elsewhere. I
   don’t know any practical ways to restore user permissions without having access
   to the “Plugins” page. [User Role Editor](https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/)
   has a “reset roles” feature, but you probably wouldn’t be able to access it.
   Alternatively, maybe you could get a valid `wp_user_roles` record from somewhere(
   a fresh WP install?) and overwrite the corresponding entry in your `wp_options`
   table.
