Hi there. After updating the plugin this morning, it disappeared from the website as if it was deleted. When I try to install it again, it fails, saying “Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.” My current version of WordPress is 6.8 and it was already updated a few days before so the previous version of the events calendar was working with it. I hope you can help re-install it and that it’s possible to retrieve the events… Thanks!

    Hi @dropsofrainbow ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I recognize how challenging this must be, but let me try to assist you here to the best of my abilities.

Your events are stored in your WordPress environment’s database and will stay there regardless if The Events Calendar plugin was deactivated/removed.

This situation is uncommon, but, what you can do is gain access to your site’s hosted files via FTP (see Using FTP) or through your host provider’s web console, particularly its File Manager.

Once you have access to your site’s files, you can delete the-events-calendar folder from your /wp-content/plugins/ folder then re-install the plugin as normal from your WordPress admin dashboard.
