I’ve been using Forminator which has worked great up until I updated the Neve theme and the Forminator plugin. The plugin has completely disappeared from the dashboard. I am unable to download the plugin again because it says that the folder already exists. This has happened to a separate plugin after a theme update and I’m not sure if there is something else I need to be doing in order to prevent this from happening.

Also, seeing this error: The plugin forminator/forminator.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

    Hi @elmirabia2021

    I hope you’re well today!

I’m not familiar with Neve theme but I seriously doubt it would disable/remove plugin like that “on purpose”. If anything, I would assume that some unexpected issue happened during update and most likely “hit” Forminator “by accident” rather than anything else.

It would be a rare case but such things do happen sometimes. Usually it would be related some “glitch” (like e.g. temporary server overload or similar) during update that results in unexpected results.

I also tested free version of Neve theme on my test site with Formiantor just now and it seems to be working fine.

Aall the data of Forminator are very likely still there so I’d suggest following:

    1. Access your site’s WordPress files using FTP or cPanel “File Manager” tool (or similar) and go to the “/wp-content/plugins” folder

    2. Delete the “forminator” folder from there

    3. Then just install the plugin via “Plugins -> Add new”, just like you would install it for the first time.

It should get installed this time unless there’s some additional issue happening. If it doesn’t install again with similar error then it’s very likely that you have just ran out of free space on your server so you might need to consult that with your current host to regain space or add some more.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

That helped! It also saved all my information after downloading the plugin again. Saved me a ton of time. Thanks so much!
