# Plugin does not have a valid header

 * I have uploaded a plugin and successfully activated it, but on the next page 
   there is a message coming up – Plugin does not have a valid header. I have tried
   downloading it from it’s original source and uploaded several times, but the 
   same message is coming up.
 * Please help. Thanks
 * PS I do not want to upgrade to the newest version of WordPress in case I lose
   my site and contents.
 * Could you please answer with step-by-step instructions! Thanks.

 * If the plugin is old, then it’s probably crappy, so it’s hard to say without 
   knowing which plugin you are talking about.
 * With regards to upgrading your WordPress version, you should be running the latest
   version which has many security patches.
