# Plugin does not have valid header

 * While trying to install a couple of plugins I get the warning: “plugin does not
   have a valid header.” Afterwords, the plugin does not show up in the manage plugins
   list so I am unable to delete it. If I try to upload it again it says the file
   already exists. Anybody know what is going on here and how to fix it?

 * The plugin is probably not compatible with your current wordpress version. The
   reason why it says “file already exist” is that the plugin folder is still there.
   You can delete if manually by using your ftp-client.

 * I solved my own problem for a change!
 * I deleted the plugin files from my host server. I use Bluehost and found them
   by following:
 * – File Manager Icon under Files
    > choosing Web Root (public_html/www) > clicking
   GO > wp-content > plugins > then deleted affected plugins
 * I then went back to my WP admin screen, searched, installed, and activated the
   plugins again and it worked.
 * I think what happened was the first time I downloaded them to my computer then
   uploaded them to wordpress. This should work but my computer automatically unzips
   downloaded files. I had to re-zip them before uploading them to wordpress and
   probably when I re-zipped them it changed something in the header.

 * When I try to install a new theme, I get the same error message. What’s going
   on?
