 * Hello,
 * The Adaptive images folder is created, and the .htaccess file has been edited
   successfully (I also checked opened it and verified). But the folder itself is
   empty. It is not generating the cache.
 * I am using WPcache and AMPforWP. I also set the parameters to (for desktop compatibility)–
   1920, 1366, 1280, 1024, 640, 480.
 * Rest is all default. What is going wrong here?
 * Regards

 * Hello, there,
 * First of all, I believe that there is no incompatibility with the WPCache plugin
   or AMPforWP, as far as we know. These plugins work on different levels.
 * I did a check on your website and it seems that the Adaptive Images plugin is
   actually working. The cookie we set is correct: [http://prntscr.com/h78l19/](http://prntscr.com/h78l19/).
   The size of the downloaded images are as expected: [http://prntscr.com/h78m3o/](http://prntscr.com/h78m3o/).
   The debug info of images is correct as well: [http://listogre.com/wp-content/uploads/-000//1/58_027.jpg?debug=true](http://listogre.com/wp-content/uploads/-000//1/58_027.jpg?debug=true).
 * Are there any problems that you have noticed? Have you tested your website in
   the Responsive design mode of your browser or in a real mobile device?
 * Cheers,
    Takis

 * Hi
 * I have the exact same issue.
 * So I don’t quite understand yet the purpose of the cache/adaptive-images folder,
   if no images are actually being physically created (I certainly can’t view them
   if I FTP that directory – it’s always completely empty).
 * I don’t have any other caching plugins, I just have visual composer, Qode Bridge
   theme and a couple of small plugins like Simple Page order.
 * I’ve accessed the website from mobile, etc…. but still no differently sized images
   in the folder
 * ???????
 * Thanks,
 * Lee

 * Hello, [@leemasondesign](https://wordpress.org/support/users/leemasondesign/),
 * The original purpose of the `cache/adaptive-images` is to hold and cache the
   intermediate downsized images which will be served to the browsers instead of
   the original ones, in order to save download time.
 * In the case of [@maximus777](https://wordpress.org/support/users/maximus777/)
   the plugin seemed to work fine, at least when I checked it the first time and
   even still now. Do you think you could share you website url with us, so that
   I can take a look for you perhaps?
 * On the other hand, there might indeed be some circumstances where the plugin
   fails and perhaps you have come across one of them. I’d love to find out what’s
   wrong, if you can help me debug the issue.
 * Cheers,
    Takis

 * Thanks,
 * That’s what I thought, it’s just not creating any downsized images and the folder
   is empty on my FTP server
 * The url is: [http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/](http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/)
 * I have viewed the page in Chrome Dev Tools, it doesn’t appear to be loading anything
   but the full size 2000px images.
 * Any help greatly appreciated!!
 * Thanks,
 * Lee

 * Hello, my friend,
 * Thank you for sharing your website url with me! I did check it out and I believe
   that the Adaptive Images plugin is actually working as expected. Look at the
   following debug urls:
    - [http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/packaging-designer-london-padian-foods-kapitan.jpg?debug=true](http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/packaging-designer-london-padian-foods-kapitan.jpg?debug=true)
    - [http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/packaging-designer-london-padian-foods-kapitan.jpg?debug=original](http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/packaging-designer-london-padian-foods-kapitan.jpg?debug=original)
    - [http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/packaging-designer-london-padian-foods-kapitan.jpg?resolution=320,1](http://www.lmd-1.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/packaging-designer-london-padian-foods-kapitan.jpg?resolution=320,1)
 * Also, here is what I see when trying to access your website via Firefox’s developer
   tools in responsive design mode [http://prntscr.com/icf9q1](http://prntscr.com/icf9q1)
   and I believe that you should have started to see images being populated in the
   image cache folder by now.
 * However, in all honesty, it take a couple of hard refreshes (Ctrl+F5/Cmd+F5)
   in order to get to the above result. I am not sure why this happened. Perhaps
   some stubborn cache in the middle or just a little too aggressive browser cache?
 * Cheers,
    Takis

 * Thanks Takis!
 * The browser cache is actually set to default 6 months.
 * Images are starting to come in now – so all seems good.
 * Not sure why it took you some hard refreshes, or why Ive not seen any images
   in the folder until now though.
 * It has essentially duplicated the UPLOADS folder directory into the ADAPTIVE
   IMAGES folder, which is cool, as you can cross reference the adaptive images
   with the original uploads.
 * So I’m ok now – thanks for testing it!!

 * Hello,
 * Just an update. As [@nevma](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nevma/) has said,
   I can verify that the site is working. So was no conflict issue.

 * I am glad to hear this!
 * However, bear in mind that only the images that actually are accessed and are
   in need of downsizing will be re-created in the image cache. For instance, if
   an image is already small enough for a screen size then it will not be downsized
   and the original image will be used.
 * Cheers,
    Takis
