[Plugin: Facebook] like button not showing up

So I have a pretty simple issue and I’m sure someone will give me a simple solution but I’m really not smart when it comes to all this wordpress stuff, so I apoligise in advance for being a noob.

Simply put, I have downloaded the official Facebook plugin. I would like to add a facebook like button to the bottom of posts. I have selected all the relevent settings in the “settings” section under “like button” (namely that under “show on”, ‘home’ and ‘post’ are ticked) however no like button is showing up on my page or posts. Incidentally I have the same issue with twitter, too.
