 * Plugin fills database with about 40.000 rows of strange lines like “_transient_ecwid_26253111_20_2020-
   05-06 08:25:18”
 * It’s about half a Giga bite

 * Hello!
 * This is Jackie, Ecwid Team.
 * These records are stored by WordPress’ caching mechanism. WordPress deletes them
   in one month after they are created. Usually, these values clean up automatically
   in 30 days, yet something might have gone wrong on your side.
 * If needed, you can delete them manually without any harmful consequences.
 * I found a WordPress plugin that might help you to do that. Please check it here:
   [https://wordpress.org/plugins/delete-expired-transients/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/delete-expired-transients/)
 * Also, you can reset the Ecwid plugin cache at this page: [https://www.engravablecreations.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ec-params](https://www.engravablecreations.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ec-params)
 * Hope this helps!

 * So, is there no way to disable the cashing and saving of the transients ?

 * Hi Pieter!
 * No, you can’t disable it but you can clear the cache of the plugin on the Settings
   page via <site_url>/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ec-params
 * On this page, click the “Clear all cache” button – this should also erase all
   transient records.

 * Hi there! It’s Dexter with Ecwid team. Thank you for your message!
 * I’m sorry that it’s happened to your site!
 * I see that someone reached out to us regarding this issue on your site. So we
   have a ticket on this and we’re planning to automate cache clearing in our plugin.
   As soon as we release it, we’ll let you know!
 * Also, as a workaround, you can clear cache manually from time to time. Here’s
   a direct link to the page where you can do that: [https://www.wilcoxnursery.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ec-params](https://www.wilcoxnursery.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ec-params)
 * Just follow this link, scroll down the page and click on ‘Clear all caches’.
 * I hope it helps!
 * If you have any questions, feel free to post them here.

 * Your plugin is creating 1 transient per page or something, this is filling dbs
   with thousands of transients.
    Yes it’s possible to clear but it’s not the solution,
   as it won’t solve the problem and it repopulates quickly. The solution is not
   to use transient if not necessary or re-work that part in your code.
 * On a site with a lot of pages there are 200k transients.
    This plugin is currently
   broken.

 * Hi there!
 * Ecwid team is here.
 * Many thanks for your feedback. We really appreciate it.
 * We should say that we’re actively working on the plugin improvement: recently,
   we released the updated version of the Ecwid plugin where we added the automatic
   cache cleaning tool. So all transient records will be automatically deleted from
   wp_options table once a month. Please, make sure that you use the latest version
   of our plugin — 6.10.5.
 * You can also forcibly clear the plugin cache on the plugin settings page:
    - open the hidden plugin page available at `https://YOURDOMAIN.com/wp-admin/
      admin.php?page=ec-params`, where `YOURDOMAIN.com` should be replaced with
      your site domain
    - click on “Clear all caches” button at the bottom of the page
    - We have plans to continue to improve the way our plugin works with transient
      records for sure. I’ve shared your feedback with our plugin developers.
    - Can you detail what you mean by “This plugin is currently broken”? Do you
      experience any issues because of transients? If so, what are they? Please,
      give us as more details as you can so we could better understand the problem.
      The additional details will help us to “see” your workflow and check if we
      can find a way to improve our caching mechanisms.
    - We’d also appreciate if you tell us how many products you have in your Ecwid
      catalog and what version of the plugin you use on your site. These details
      will be helpful. Maybe you can give us the link to your published site where
      we can see your Ecwid products? This will help us to detect your Ecwid account
      ID and check the version of your plugin.
    - Always happy to hear from you!
