# Plugin for WIFI / mobile data detection?

 * Hey there,
 * I’m searching for a Plugin to detect if a user is on the internet via WIFI or
   mobile data and display specific content via shortcode.
 * The problem is, that most users who don’t use WLAN won’t watch a video because
   their mobile data volume is limited. So I would like to show them a message with
   a link to a text version of that video.
 * Does anyone know, if there is already such a WP Plugin out there?

 * The web server just serves content and does not care how the connection was made.

 * You can detect users of smartphones by the user agent string of their browsers.
   Other than that, there’s no way to distinguish between different ways of Internet
   access (ADSL/VDSL, cable, fibre, WiFi etc…) Especially since now for example 
   I’m accessing the Internet using ADSL but before that I have two wireless (WiFi)
   hops. 🙂
